The best Trainerize alternatives in 2026, ranked honestly by what you actually pay
Five Trainerize alternatives for personal trainers, with every price read from the company's own pricing page today: TrueCoach, Everfit, PT Distinction, BryksBuilt and staying put. Who each one is for, what it costs at 5, 25 and 50 clients, and the questions to ask before you move a roster.
The best Trainerize alternative depends on the size of your roster and whether you want a platform that only manages clients or one that also finds them. On the prices each company published today, BryksBuilt is the lowest flat price at 25 clients with branding and payments included, TrueCoach is the polished pick for a roster under 20, Everfit is the free start that grows with add ons, and PT Distinction is the value pick at 50 with per client overflow.
We build one of the five options on this page, so read it the way you would read any vendor's comparison: check the sources, count your clients, and notice where we tell you to pick someone else. Every number below was read on the company's own pricing page on the date at the bottom.

1. BryksBuilt: flat pricing, leads and an AI assistant, from $22.99
What it is. A coaching platform and a consumer fitness app in one product. The coach runs clients, programs, check ins, meal plans, messaging, payments and branding from a web portal and a phone app. The client trains, logs food and messages the coach inside the same app that people who have never heard of the coach also use, which is where the marketplace comes from.
What it costs. Free to 5 clients, forever. Starter $22.99 USD a month for 25 clients, Growth $44.99 for 50, Scale $69.99 for 75, Unlimited $99.99. Every paid plan includes Bryksy (the AI assistant) and the full Pro app for your own training. White label is a one time add on, $99.99 USD or $150 CAD, paid once. Payments are on every plan including free, at a 2 percent platform fee into your own Stripe.
Where it wins. The price does not creep with each client, the branded app is a single fee rather than a tier climb, and the marketplace is a source of clients that pure coaching software cannot be. Bryksy drafting a program from "12 weeks, three days, knee friendly" and letting you approve it is the kind of thing that saves a Sunday.
Where it loses. It is the youngest platform here (live since June 2026). The integrations list is short. There is no standalone branded app under your own listing, on purpose. If you need a decade of edge cases handled, one of the others has handled them.
2. TrueCoach: the polished pick under 20 clients
What it costs. Starter $29.98 a month for up to 5 active clients, Standard $69.98 for up to 20, Pro $164.98 for up to 50. Annual billing gives one month free on Starter and two months free on the others. A 14 day trial with no card.
Where it wins. It is mature and fast. Payments are listed as free automated payments through Stripe on every plan. The branded app comes with Standard and Pro.
Where it loses. The per plan client caps are tight: 20 on the plan most coaches buy. At 50 clients it is $164.98 a month, which is nearly twice PT Distinction's Master plan and close to four times BryksBuilt's Growth plan. There is no free tier to sit on while you build a roster.
Pick it if you have under 20 clients, want the tool with the fewest surprises, and the price at your roster size does not bother you.
3. Everfit: start free, buy the pieces
What it costs. Starter is free forever for 5 clients. Pro starts at $19 a month for 5 clients (or $16 billed annually) and scales to $255 for 250. Studio starts at $105 for 50 and scales to $430 for 500. Annual saves 16 percent. Then the add ons: Autoflow automation from $29 a month, on demand collections from $25, Payments and Packages from $9, Meal Plans and Recipe Books at $39.
Where it wins. The free plan is a real free plan, the Pro entry price is low, and you only pay for the parts you use. For a coach who wants automation and has the roster to justify it, Autoflow is a genuine feature.
Where it loses. The add ons add up. A coach who wants payments and meal plans on Pro is paying the base price plus $48 a month before automation, and the base price itself climbs with the roster. Custom branding is listed on Pro and Studio but the price is not on the page, so ask.
Pick it if you like paying for exactly what you use and you are disciplined about not turning everything on.
4. PT Distinction: the fixed price at 50
What it costs. Basic $19.90 a month for 3 clients, Pro $59.90 for 25, Master $89.90 for 50. Extra clients cost $6.00, $2.40 and $1.60 a month each on the three plans. A one month free trial. Branded apps on Pro and Master at no extra cost; Basic has no custom branding.
Where it wins. Predictable. $89.90 covers 50 clients with branding, and the overflow price on Master is low enough that client 51 does not force a plan change. The one month trial is the longest here.
Where it loses. No free plan, so a new coach pays from month two. The Basic plan is 3 clients with no branding, which makes it a trial more than a tier. Payments are not detailed on the pricing page.
Pick it if you are between 25 and 50 clients, want one number on the bill, and branding matters.
5. Staying on Trainerize
What it costs. Basic is free for 1 client, Grow is $10 a month for 2, then Pro by seat count: $25 at 5, $79 at 30, $135 at 50 and $250 at 200. Studio Plus is $275 for 500 per location. Annual saves 10 percent. The custom branded app is a $169 one time fee on Pro and included on Studio Plus and Enterprise.
Stay if your gym runs on ABC Fitness software and the two need to talk, if you rely on an integration only Trainerize has, if you need a standalone branded app under your own App Store listing, or if you simply have a system that works and the itch is not worth a weekend. Switching costs are real and a working roster is worth more than a cheaper bill.
Move if the per client pricing has crossed the flat price of a plan elsewhere, if the one time fee for branding is higher than it needs to be, or if what you actually want is new clients rather than a nicer place to manage the old ones.
Five questions to ask before you move a roster
- What do I pay at my roster size a year from now, not today? Scaling plans look cheap at 5 clients.
- Is branding a one time fee, a tier, or included? The five differ on this and it is the easiest line item to miss.
- Who holds the money when a client pays? A platform that pays you out is not the same as a platform that sends the charge to your Stripe.
- Is there a free plan to stand on while I move clients across in batches?
- Where do new clients come from on this platform? For four of the five the answer is "you," which is fine, as long as you know it.
Our honest position
We would rather you pick the right platform than pick ours. If you are an independent coach or a small team, count your clients and read the table: BryksBuilt will usually be the lowest flat price with the most included, and it is the only one on this page that also sends you clients. If you are a gym on ABC software, a coach under 20 clients who values polish over price, or a studio that needs its own App Store listing, one of the other four will serve you better, and this page has already told you which.
Questions people ask
The short answers
What is the cheapest Trainerize alternative for a small roster?
For 5 clients or fewer, BryksBuilt and Everfit are both free. For 25 clients on the figures each pricing page shows, BryksBuilt Starter at $22.99 USD a month is the lowest flat price; PT Distinction Pro is $59.90 for 25, TrueCoach Standard is $69.98 for 20, and Everfit and Trainerize scale with the roster.
How does each alternative charge for a branded app?
BryksBuilt: a one time fee of $99.99 USD or $150 CAD. TrueCoach: included on Standard and Pro. PT Distinction: included on Pro and Master. Everfit: on Pro and Studio with the price not shown. Trainerize: a $169 one time fee on Pro, included on Studio Plus.
Can I take client payments on all of them?
TrueCoach lists free automated payments through Stripe on every plan. Everfit sells Payments and Packages as a $9 a month add on. BryksBuilt includes payments on every plan, free one included, with a 2 percent platform fee straight to your own Stripe. Trainerize and PT Distinction do not detail payments on their pricing pages.
How long does it take to switch platforms?
Budget a weekend. Rebuild your five or six core program templates, set up your check in form, invite clients in batches of ten, and keep the old platform running for two weeks so nobody falls through. None of the platforms here offer a one click import from Trainerize.
Is there a free trial on each?
TrueCoach 14 days with no card. PT Distinction one month. BryksBuilt 7 days on paid plans on the web, and the free plan needs no trial at all. Everfit's page shows a free plan with no card rather than a timed trial. Trainerize's Basic plan is free at one client.
Should I just stay on Trainerize?
If your gym runs on ABC Fitness software, if you depend on an integration only they have, or if you need a standalone branded app under your own App Store listing, yes. This page says so in its own section.
