David was coaching real clients out of spreadsheets, a chat app and a program builder that could not see any of it. His clients were logging workouts in one app and meals in another, which meant the two things that actually decide whether someone progresses were never in the same place.
Graeme had come off the ice and out of the trades, and was learning to build software. The plan was small at first. Fix the part that annoyed us. Then it became clear the whole thing needed to be one product: the app a person trains with, and the platform their coach runs on, sharing the same data.
So that is what we built, and we still build it every week. David runs his own clients inside it, which is the fastest bug report system ever invented. If something is annoying, we hear about it at dinner.
